Solar Energy Solutions Engineer

Ziegler CAT is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Solar Energy Solutions Engineer. This position is focused on cultivating sales prospects with both new and existing clientele. The role will involve supporting Electric Power customers through various responsibilities, including addressing commercial concerns, providing technical documentation assistance, and collaborating with project management as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and engages potential customers, delivering proposals for Hybrid Energy Solutions products, including Solar and Battery Energy Storage systems.
  • Responds to inquiries from current customers regarding Hybrid Energy Solutions products.
  • Evaluates engineering specifications to prepare quotes that align with project needs.
  • Assesses sales opportunities within the territory and strategically targets business prospects.
  • Records project and component specifications tailored to individual customer requirements.
  • Prepares sales quotations for clients utilizing standardized Ziegler formats.
  • Provides technical support and resources, including literature, schematics, and wiring diagrams, to both customers and EPG sales colleagues.
  • Gains knowledge of Cat and competing products to propose optimal solutions based on customer preferences and concerns.
  • Negotiates and finalizes sales transactions within established authority limits, ensuring all necessary sales documentation is completed.
  • Coordinates activities with support divisions within Ziegler and Caterpillar to address product field service and quality assurance issues.
  • Creates technical sales proposals for customers to facilitate business closure.
  • Records all activities in the CRM system.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical sales is required.
  • Essential Personal Attributes: Customer Orientation, Problem-Solving Skills, Attention to Detail, Interpersonal Skills, Goal-Driven.
  • Strong mechanical understanding is necessary.
  • Must possess a clean driving record.
  • Analytical capabilities are essential.
  • Experience in Solar, Battery Energy Storage, Electric Power, Electrician, or Generator fields is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, communicate verbally, and hear.
  • Work conditions may vary between indoor and outdoor environments, with moderate noise levels at times.
