Executive Chef Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Daisy's Po' Boy and Tavern in Hyde Park, Chicago.
The ideal candidate will have 1 year of cooking experience and 1 year of restaurant experience, with a strong passion for delivering exceptional food and service.
The Sous Chef will be responsible for managing food cost and labor cost, ordering and inventory responsibilities, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.
The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, be able to work well under pressure, and have a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage food cost and labor cost
- Ordering and inventory responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant
- Lead by example and maintain a positive attitude
- Assist in plating food items for service
- Clean assigned workstation areas
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature
Requirements:
- 1 year of cooking experience
- 1 year of restaurant experience
- High school or equivalent
Work Environment:
- Casual New Orleans inspired Po' Boy restaurant & Tavern in Hyde Park, Chicago
Schedule:
- 12 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
