Executive Chef Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating food production activities and directing the training of kitchen staff to ensure a high-quality, efficient, and profitable food service department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of the main, grill, and/or banquet kitchens, including ordering, scheduling, sanitation, maintenance, employee development, and performance reviews.
- Maintain sanitation standards and applicable food handling processes.
- Supervise and direct kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Prepare work schedules, monitor payroll costs, and order food and kitchen goods.
- Develop and implement menu plans, including banquet menus and special requests.
- Ensure proper quality, portioning, and presentation of food.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and duties set by the Executive Chef.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of individual work areas and the kitchen.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and team spirit.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
