Job Overview:


• The primary goal is to assist organizational sectors in deploying technological solutions that are both efficient in cost and aligned with essential business needs, while effectively communicating with stakeholders, facilitators, and partners. Occasional travel may be necessary for this role.

• Engage actively in a variety of assignments to ensure the successful execution of technology initiatives from inception to completion.

• Proficient in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and adept at creating system specifications and documentation that support the development process.

• Gather, analyze, specify, and confirm the business requirements of stakeholders, including customers and end users, through interviews and comprehensive user requirement compilation to ascertain the necessary technology solutions.

• The Business Analyst will utilize established communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills to guide the organization in making informed technology choices.

• Occasional travel may be required.

The Arizona Department of Education operates in a hybrid work model, allowing for remote work as authorized by management based on business needs. Candidates should be prepared to work in-office as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist organizations in deploying technology solutions efficiently by identifying project or program requirements and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.

• Document and convey complex functional and technical requirements across various systems and business domains using specified formats to ensure consistency in requirement documentation across projects.

• Create business process maps, high-level workflows, use cases, functional specifications, wireframes, and process flow diagrams; identify and suggest feature requirements, develop user stories, and create report mock-ups.

• Identify opportunities for business process redesign.

• Assess how to enhance existing business processes.

• Recommend modifications to automated processes.

• Develop Agile Product Backlog items for presentation to development teams and business stakeholders, including necessary assumptions, acceptance criteria, user/system details, and non-functional requirements, while facilitating backlog grooming and sprint planning sessions.

• Comprehend the integration of processes across various domains, scopes, charters, and plans.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge and experience in analyzing business processes related to IT system applications, including system design and implementation in a full project lifecycle.

• Strong background in eliciting, detailing, documenting, and validating requirements.

• Comprehensive understanding of methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.

• Ability to gather complex requirements across systems and business domains using specified formats to ensure continuity of documentation.

• Proficiency in facilitating backlog grooming and sprint planning.

• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team environment.

• Familiarity with analytical, research, and statistical methods.

• Capability to gather requirements for API rules.

• Basic understanding of SQL statements and relational databases.

• Ability to develop and maintain Agile Product Backlog items for presentation to development teams and business stakeholders.

• Experience in process improvement, workflow analysis, benchmarking, and evaluation of business processes.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with five years of experience in business analysis.

• Minimum of three years of experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in application development within IT departments in either government or private sectors.

• Background in the education industry.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

• Knowledge of current Microsoft .NET technologies and SharePoint.
