Job Summary

As a Food Service Worker - Retail Cafeteria at Stanford Children's Health | Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and customer service. Under the direction of the Food Service Managers and Supervisors, you will be responsible for the preparation of breakfast and grill items, as well as other food service functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare simple breakfast hot foods and grill items according to standardized menus, recipes, or verbal instructions.
  • Maintain adequate supplies, set up and refill assigned stations, serve retail customers, and alert supervisors and managers of items that are low on stock.
  • Clean work areas, including sinks, counters, and serving areas, sweep and mop floors, wipe spills, collect and remove trash, and replace trash can liners.
  • Wash utensils, pots, and pans used in the area, and clean grill, fryers, and other commercial equipment used for cooking or storage of food.
  • Keep records of the amount of food prepared, amount served or distributed, and amount left over, and record changes when recipes are altered.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of food service experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships with a diverse population.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and use time efficiently.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
