Press Operator*Job Overview
As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating web printing presses to ensure high-quality production. Your role will involve overseeing the press crew, maintaining the equipment, and executing various operational tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Your key responsibilities will include setting up, adjusting, and operating gravure or multi-color offset presses to produce single-color, two-color, and multi-color prints. This includes handling large solids, screen tints, line work, and halftones, all while adhering to strict color values and registration standards.
You will review job specifications to determine the necessary press setup based on the imposition of the run (sheet wise or work and turn). You will perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press you operate, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, inspecting plates and cylinders for defects, and ensuring correct image positioning. Additionally, you will prepare blankets, adjust tension, and ensure proper registration.
Prior to production runs, you will make essential color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specifications. Regular cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of the press will be part of your duties, including minor repairs and replacing worn or broken components as needed. You will also perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
Shifts:
7pm - 7am/ 3 days on 4 days off rotating every 8 weeks
