Job Summary

The Automation Systems Specialist will be responsible for supporting high-speed automation systems used in the manufacturing process. This includes the installation, start-up, and setup/programming of high-speed automated manufacturing formulation, filling, sterilization, and packaging systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical expert for maintaining and troubleshooting all types of automated equipment used in production.
  • Perform electrical controls setup as required to automated machinery.
  • Train and mentor Mechanics to ensure there are capable Mechanics on all three shifts.
  • Coordinate daily activities with other departments to maintain production demands.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned.
  • Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory and re-ordering spares as required.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in drafting, reviewing, and approving maintenance and operation SOPs.
  • Plan and execute continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage capital/expense project activities with guidance from the Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED; Associates degree or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience serving as a Mechanic.
  • Strong electrical background, including knowledge of PLC code and modification.
  • Considered an expert in the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated equipment.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and planning skills.
  • Robotics experience a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
