We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Safety Officer to join our team at Connecticut College. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our campus community.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce all college rules and regulations to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
- Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings and grounds to monitor and respond to security concerns.
- Respond to emergency calls and conduct thorough investigations to assess situations and provide support services.
- Prepare detailed reports of all investigations, complaints, and calls for service performed.
- Transport sick or injured students to the college health services when necessary.
- Recognize and report all unsafe conditions and correct problems or report to responsible personnel.
- Identify and remove any unauthorized person or vehicles from college property.
- High school graduate with 2-5 years related experience needed; some college preferred.
- Must be able to write clear and concise reports and possess a valid driver's license.
- Guard Card Certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
- Ability to work in various positions for extended periods of time and navigate campus terrain and buildings quickly.
- Good hearing and vision to identify potential threats and respond to alarms or calls.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Physical strength for tasks such as restraining individuals if necessary.
- Some college education preferred.
- Previous experience in security or law enforcement.
The Campus Safety Officer will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to work in various positions for extended periods of time. The officer will be required to navigate campus terrain and buildings quickly and be able to work in all weather conditions.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $19.57 per hour.
