Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

At Surge Staffing, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS management and a proven track record of ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement EHS strategies, policies, and programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Respond to incidents, assist in investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and update company policies accordingly.
  • Provide EHS training and support to employees.
  • Assist in coordinating EHS policies and procedures across departments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 is an advantage.
  • Experience in compliance auditing and training is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ergonomics is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of regulations including EPA, OSHA, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification is a plus.
