Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team at Boston Medical Center. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our surgeons and healthcare team, and contribute to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including initial and follow-up evaluations, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning.
- Work closely with our surgeons to develop and implement treatment plans, and provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as needed.
- Participate in surgical procedures, including first assist and deep and superficial tissue closures.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, and maintain confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and transitions.
- Master's degree from a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA) PANCE eligibility and licensure in the State of Massachusetts.
- Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar clinical setting or specialty.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience working in an orthopedic surgery setting.
- Knowledge of industry standards and practices, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
