Job Title: Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing medical care to our employees and applicants, ensuring their fitness for duty and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical examinations to determine fitness for work and/or hire
  • Assist in the MBTA Medical clinic to facilitate physical assessments of MBTA employees/applicants
  • Review and make determinations on medical findings affecting an employee or applicant's ability to meet fitness for duty standards
  • Collaborate with the physician in the healthcare of patients with chronic illnesses
  • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science in Physician Assistant Studies or related degree from an accredited institution
  • Certified Medical Examiner FMCSA (49 CFR 391)
  • Three (3) years of experience as a licensed physician assistant
  • Registered medical examiner on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners
  • Massachusetts PA licensure through The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of experience as a licensed physician assistant
  • Master's degree in science in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Two (2) years' experience as a Registered Medical Examiner on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners
  • Two (2) years' experience of DOT physical examinations
