Pump Maintenance Technician

The primary objective of this role is to execute all tasks as assigned by the Pump Shop Manager/Supervisor, focusing on the maintenance and repair of client pumps and associated equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble pumps, along with handling other products pertinent to the pump shop.
- Safely manage sucker rods and apply general oil field supply products and safety systems equipment.
- Transport customer pumps that require repair, ensuring timely delivery and collection.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of pump, safety, and rod product shipments.
- Secure signed approval of delivery documentation from customer representatives promptly.
- Complete all necessary paperwork related to the transaction of pumps, sucker rods, supplies, and safety equipment sales. Accurately fill out the Pump Service Record (PSR) for all new or repaired pumps serviced in the area.
- Regularly consult with the Pump Shop Manager/Supervisor regarding the repair status of customer pump equipment.
- Perform tasks in a manner that upholds a safe working environment, maintaining cleanliness and order in the shop.
- With guidance, may present well reports to clients and participate in customer failure analysis discussions.
- Handle incoming customer calls for service work and equipment sales, completing the required documentation.
- Support the Shop Manager/Supervisor in ensuring the accuracy of shop inventory.
- Carry out any additional tasks or assignments as directed by management.
- Maintain the company-assigned vehicle in accordance with company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED with a preference for 2 years of experience in the oil field.
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to sit and/or drive a vehicle for a minimum of 2 hours, often extending to 4 hours.
- Ability to navigate all areas of a pump shop or warehouse, as well as various job sites.
- Capacity to lift up to 70 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely mount and dismount from the back of a truck, and perform bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and gripping tasks.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to adapt to changing priorities and complete tasks despite frequent interruptions.
- Ability to respond to visual and auditory signals.
- Competence to drive a one-ton pickup truck.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
The work environment is typically within a BSC Administration LLC location during standard or extended business hours. It may also include customer sites, such as oil well locations, and various meeting venues, with significant time spent off-site as required.
