CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST IN ALLERGY CARE, FULL TIME, ROTATING SHIFT AT BWH

Position Overview:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Allergy Care is a key professional in the field of allergy and immunology, demonstrating advanced knowledge and leadership in the management of intricate patient cases. The CNS plays an essential role within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering comprehensive care to patients with allergy and immunology concerns, overseeing the planning, execution, coordination, and assessment of patient care outcomes.

Work Environment:
Allergy and Clinical Immunology services across various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Patient Care Management
  • Functions as an Independent Licensed Provider, overseeing a designated group of patients both autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Conducts thorough assessments, formulates care plans, implements interventions, and evaluates outcomes for patients with both acute and chronic conditions.
  • Efficiently manages patient care, integrating principles of health maintenance, prevention, and health promotion.
  • Provides education to patients, ensuring they are equipped for effective self-management.
  • Facilitates access to community resources for patients and their families.
B. Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Develops and directs the clinical practice of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinates care with various healthcare providers to address patient needs effectively.
  • Identifies collaborative opportunities and spearheads departmental initiatives.
  • Establishes professional relationships with colleagues and actively participates in committees and task forces.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
C. Quality Improvement:
  • Engages in activities aimed at performance enhancement and utilizes data to drive quality improvements.
  • Translates findings into actionable improvements in clinical practice.
