Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Unit Secretary to join our team at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. As a Unit Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting our nursing staff by performing specific patient care activities, unit order activities, and all clerical functions performed on the unit.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between patients, hospital personnel, visitors, and ancillary departments.
- Perform all clerical functions on the unit, including data entry and communication with other departments.
- Provide direct patient care as a member of a collaborative team, including vital sign collection and medication administration.
- Perform indirect patient care functions on the unit, such as preparing and maintaining patient charts and records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the nursing staff and management.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Technical or vocational training in secretarial skills required.
- Vocational or technical training as a nursing assistant preferred.
- Previous two years' experience as a unit technician or related duties preferred.
- BLS certification required and maintained or obtained within 30-days of original job date.
