Job Description: We are recruiting a Assistant Project Manager for a large Mechanical Contractor that is in hiring mode. Our client is a larger firm located in the Columbus OH area who is looking for someone that can have an immediate beneficial impact on company operations. Projects consist of large commercial, institutional, and a few industrial projects. This is a permanent position with a direct career path to become a full Mechanical Project Manager. Our client utilizes cutting edge technology and has the resources to support production and growth.

The successful candidate will preferably have 3 or more years experience as an Assistant Project Manager working with Commercial or Industrial projects construction projects. The responsibilities will include assisting the Project Manager in managing and supervising all phases of assigned projects, preparing and managing schedules, estimating change orders, assisting in negotiating all change orders and maintaining change order logs, working with the Project Manager to manage the project budget and approve all expenses, contract administration, buyout of subcontracts & equipment, interface with the Owner on all projects assigned, assembling and maintaining complete project records and close-out documents, working with the Project Manager to perform project punch-list inspection(s), managing the submittal process, responding to or creating RFI's as needed.

Required skill sets include solid communication skills - both verbal and written, ability to establish timelines and budgets, experience in cost estimation and negotiating, ability to multi-task, ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings, solid, proven and verifiable record of career stability and project management success, Mechanical Experience preferred, someone with construction experience in other disciplines will be strongly considered as well.
