Job Overview

This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality of components (both internally produced and vendor-supplied) at various stages of production to confirm compliance with specifications. Responsibilities include the upkeep, repair, and calibration of Mark Andy inspection gauges and tools within the calibration framework overseen by the Senior Quality Technician. The position also involves contributing to the establishment and functioning of quality control systems, as well as the application and evaluation of testing and inspection methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Technician must possess training and be capable of operating both Press and Digital PRO equipment.
  • Conduct setup and technical inspections of the Press & Digital PRO Standard and Custom products.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Team Leads to ensure that test plans and specification sheets are accurately documented and that all options are thoroughly tested during the inspection process.
  • Assist Final Mechanical and Electrical Assemblers to ensure that issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Work alongside Team Leads and Assembly Management to advance quality inspection stages as early as possible in the assembly process to identify and resolve issues sooner.
  • Test and validate equipment along with all options, documenting the testing process through video recordings. Ensure all inspection and discrepancy items are verified and that required photographs are taken.
  • Review the STO, 6 Sigma, and EDS documentation to confirm the proper configuration of the press, utilizing these documents to compile the Machine Packing list, including taking photographs.
  • Support Final Assembly and Crating by ensuring that all Press/Digital PRO, Press/Digital PRO pack-out items, and CP items are organized and labeled with ID sheets/Barcode labels, ready for shipment.
  • Act as the customer advocate to guarantee that a thoroughly tested, high-quality machine is delivered to the customer.
  • Conduct Layered Process Quality Audits throughout the machine assembly procedure.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lean principles.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience:

· Education: High School Diploma or GED

· 2-5 years of experience in a related field, ideally in quality assurance, printing, and manufacturing.

· Proven ability to produce high-quality products using company equipment.

· Advanced technical knowledge in narrow web flexographic printing applications.

· Proficient in the use of calipers, feeler gauges, and necessary diagnostic tools for testing Press and Digital PRO equipment.

Work Environment:
Moderate to frequent exposure to a shop environment; potential exposure to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise, and moving parts. Usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) is typically required, and work may involve the facility's production floor or customer production environments.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, moving throughout the facility and/or customer locations. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds is necessary.
