Quality Assurance Technician

This role is crucial for ensuring the quality of components (both internal and externally sourced) at various stages of production to confirm adherence to specifications. Responsibilities include the upkeep, repair, and calibration of Mark Andy inspection gauges and tools, as overseen by the Senior Quality Technician. The position also involves supporting the establishment and functioning of quality management systems, alongside the application and evaluation of testing and inspection protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Technician must be proficient in operating both Press and Digital PRO equipment.
- Conduct setup and technical inspections of the Press & Digital PRO Standard and Custom products.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Team Leads to ensure that test plans and specification sheets are accurately documented and that all options are thoroughly tested during the inspection process.
- Assist Final Mechanical and Electrical Assemblers to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Work alongside Team Leads and Assembly Management to advance quality inspection steps earlier in the assembly process, facilitating early identification and resolution of issues.
- Test and validate equipment along with all options, documenting the process through video recordings. Ensure all inspection and discrepancy items are verified and that necessary photographs are taken.
- Review STO, 6 Sigma, and EDS sheets to confirm proper press configuration and utilize these documents to compile the Machine Packing list, including taking photographs.
- Support Final Assembly and Crating by ensuring all Press/Digital PRO and CP items are organized, labeled with ID sheets/barcode labels, and prepared for shipment.
- Act as the representative of the customer to guarantee that a thoroughly tested, high-quality machine is delivered.
- Conduct Layered Process Quality Audits throughout the machine assembly procedure.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of lean principles.
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Education and Experience:
· Education: High School Diploma or GED
· 2-5 years of experience in a related field, ideally in quality assurance, printing, and manufacturing.
· Proven ability to produce high-quality products using company equipment.
· Extensive technical knowledge in narrow web flexographic printing applications.
· Proficient in the use of calipers, feeler gauges, and necessary diagnostic tools for testing Press and Digital PRO equipment.
Work Environment:
Moderate to frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment; potential exposure to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise, and moving machinery. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is typically required, and work may involve being on the production floor or in a customer's production setting.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while moving throughout the facility and/or customer locations. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds is expected.
