ROLE OVERVIEW

The Cash Management Lead (CML) plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless guest transactions and upholding high standards at the cashwrap, focusing on cleanliness and overall presentation. With prior cashiering experience, the CML aids in training new cashiers and cross-training fellow associates, showcasing a proactive approach to collaboration, leadership, and influence among peers. This role is pivotal in driving loyalty metrics, including credit, by emphasizing performance (sales, guest experience, and loyalty), people (guest service, and associate training), and process (operational procedures and compliance standards, particularly in cashiering). The Cash Management Lead assists the management team with register operations, associate exit checks, and cashier interactions, demonstrating a commitment to guest satisfaction, process excellence, and achieving outstanding results by engaging every guest in the benefits of our Loyalty Life Cycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

  • Aid in achieving or surpassing store objectives related to retail and service sales, omni-channel engagement, guest loyalty (including credit), and retail shrink as established by Ulta Beauty.
  • Ensure each guest enjoys exceptional service by fostering a welcoming atmosphere, greeting and engaging every visitor, tailoring service to their preferences, and recommending Ulta Beauty products and services.
  • Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Facilitate guest experiences by connecting them with associates for makeup applications, skincare consultations, and product demonstrations to enhance sales and service quality.
  • Schedule appointments and support the execution of services and in-store events that provide an unparalleled guest experience while meeting sales targets.
  • Take responsibility for the organization, replenishment, and upkeep of all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse items to ensure readiness for guests at all times.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.

People

  • Foster an inclusive atmosphere that supports colleagues, peers, and the internal and external guests.
  • Assist the management team by conducting cashier interactions and exit inspections as necessary.
  • Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work hours, and share knowledge about their benefits to better assist guests.
  • Promote the advantages of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to guests, encouraging associates to do the same and creating enthusiasm around individual and store loyalty goals.
  • Participate in the training of new cashiers and the cross-training of other associates in cashiering tasks.
  • Stand out as a leader capable of engaging and motivating peers to achieve optimal productivity and performance.
  • Ensure accountability in delivering a personalized Ulta Beauty brand experience while adhering to established systems and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to support continuous professional growth and enhance sales performance.
  • Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to contribute to business growth.

Process

  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhere to the company's dress code.
  • Complete all transactions accurately, including guest returns and associate transactions, while ensuring proper control of cash and media at the cashwrap in accordance with company policies.
  • Execute designated register opening and closing functions as directed by the manager on duty.
  • Uphold outstanding store standards and cleanliness throughout the store, including the cashwrap, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring adherence to all store standards and operational procedures, including workplace safety, inventory control, and loss prevention.
  • Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to delegate, manage multiple tasks, and solve problems effectively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and enthusiasm for guest service and sales.
  • Experience in addressing guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and training new team members.

Skills

  • Proficient in basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale systems and Apple devices).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, exercise good judgment in ambiguous situations, and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Candidates for the Cash Management Lead position must be at least 18 years of age.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Continuous mobility throughout the store during shifts, including twisting and turning.
  • Frequent bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, twisting, and reaching during shifts.
  • Regular lifting and/or moving of items up to 25 lbs. during shifts.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.

The compensation for this position is $19.00 per hour. Exact pay will be determined based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
