Cardiothoracic Surgery Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and efficient Medical Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery clinic team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our regionally recognized surgeons and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Room patients, take vital signs, and prepare charts for medical procedures.
- Collect patient medical history information, medication review, and EKGs.
- Complete prior authorizations and patient calls, and tasks in the in-basket.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network.
- For new MA graduates, minimum of 100 hour externship or MA work experience is required, even with MA certification.
