Plumbing Estimator

The Plumbing Estimator will play a crucial role in our project planning and execution phase, focusing on cost estimation, bid proposal preparation, and the initial stages of project management for our grading, and utility construction projects.
This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and effective communication to ensure accurate and competitive project bidding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for plumbing and utility construction projects by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
- Develop preliminary project schedules.
- Conduct thorough reviews of potential projects to determine feasibility, risk, and profitability.
- Collaborate with the project management team to align project objectives and strategies.
- Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to solicit and evaluate bids, ensuring all estimates include up-to-date pricing and availability of materials and labor.
- Perform quote comparisons and make recommendations for selection.
- Engage with clients during the bidding process to clarify project requirements, adjustments, and to foster strong professional relationships.
- Present and explain project proposals to clients, designers and operations teams.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimations, bids, and initial project specifications to ensure transparency and accuracy in project initiation.
- Assist in oversight of historical cost database, bid management and estimating software.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Highly proficient in estimation software (e.g., Agtek Gradework, Bid2Win, Bluebeam Revu).
- Highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and the latest industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working in a team environment and handling client interactions professionally.
- Able to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel within local areas.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
This position requires in-person work. Professional, business casual office environment.
