Job Summary

This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students in a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve food according to menus and yield guides
  • Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment and work areas, and dishwashing
  • Brew coffee, fill beverage machines, and set up hot and cold food areas
  • Deliver food to staff, students, and catering events as needed
  • Comply with all state, federal, and local health department requirements for safe food handling
  • Comply with client location security protocols and guidelines
  • Check and store incoming supplies
  • Follow assigned break schedules
  • Collect and strip trays for dishwashing and participate in ware washing if assigned
  • Store silverware, dishes, glasses, cups, pots, etc.
  • Participate on safety committee
  • Attend all mandatory in-service programs
  • Manage POS/cash handling if applicable for position
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times
  • Support the goals, objectives, and mission statement set forth by Whitsons
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must complete all Whitsons and other mandated training as necessary
  • Servsafe certification
  • Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments
  • 1 year professional food service experience required
Work Environment

The work is performed primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line. Standing most of the work day is required. Work requires movement in and out of store rooms and freezers. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
