Job Summary:

At CARTI, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radiotherapy Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance services on linear accelerators and other radiotherapy treatment devices. This is a Safety Sensitive Position, requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Schedule and perform preventive maintenance, routine, and emergency repair of linear accelerators, imaging devices, and other electronic equipment at CARTI facilities.
  2. Order parts, tools, and supplies, and maintain accurate documentation of all inventory items received, transferred, or disbursed.
  3. Coordinate planning and installation of new radiotherapy equipment.
  4. Maintain work order and inventory databases, developing reports and spreadsheets from CMMS data and reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
  5. Install and repair computer and network equipment, and perform software maintenance as required for service of radiotherapy equipment.
  6. Communicate with the Director of Engineering regarding anticipated needs for parts and estimated costs for budget purposes.
  7. Assist in training the engineering team and coordinating work schedules, and provide supervision in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; preferred: an associate or college degree in a technical field.
  2. Maintain a valid Arkansas Driver's License.
  3. Ten years' experience in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of radiotherapy linear accelerators; minimum five years' experience as primary or lead service engineer.
  4. Proven competency in troubleshooting and performing high-value/high-risk repairs of linear accelerators, including vacuum work, RF systems troubleshooting and repair, and large component rigging and replacement.
  5. Vendor technical training on linear accelerator service.
  6. Knowledge and skills in mathematics, physics, and engineering, as required for maintenance of medical treatment devices.
  7. In-depth knowledge of digital and analog electronics theory, as required for maintenance of all electronic equipment.
  8. Competency and knowledge in computer repair, including component replacement, OS installation, network configuration, and basic configuration and commands.
  9. Competency in the use of CMMS software.
  10. Knowledge and skills in the development of MS Excel spreadsheets.
  11. Knowledge of institution and departmental policies and procedures, and quality control guidelines.
  12. Knowledge of high-voltage and radiation safety procedures.
Working Conditions:
  1. This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases, for which team members are offered appropriate vaccinations and safety training.
  2. Occasional exposure to very high voltages.
  3. Occasional work with greasy and oily equipment.
  4. Frequent exposure to radiation-producing equipment.
  5. Occasional exposure to continuous loud noises.
  6. Occasional exposure to human waste and excretions, lead, cadmium, processing chemicals, solvents, and other caustic solutions.
