Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Federal Sector

Halff Associates is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Federal Sector. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and preparing engineered contract documentation for assigned projects, working as an electrical Project Manager to meet deadlines, aiding in or providing engineering decisions, and collaborating with other engineers, architects, and/or owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for multiple projects which may consist of performing and scheduling work, materials, manpower, and information to ensure attainment of scope/project performance and construction schedules.
  • Creating mechanical and plumbing project construction documents, plans, specifications, design analyses' and cost estimates for robust and reliable electrical system designs.
  • Responsible for on-site visits as necessary to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations.
  • Construction activities when necessary may include shop drawing reviews, responding to RFI's, resolving construction difficulties, and coordinating field installations as required for each project to meet deadlines, and quality standards while adhering to ethical and efficient standard procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas or have the ability through NCEES to be licensed in Texas and other states.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering in Federal Sector-related projects.
  • Extensive Experience in Trane Trace 700 or similar energy modeling tools.
  • Large central plant experience is a plus.
  • High-level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, and organization skills.
  • Design-build experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with USACE and GSA-type clients.
  • Ability to manage large scale projects.
