We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Development Engineer to join our AWS Managed Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating large-scale software systems that power AWS Regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software systems to improve the reliability, availability, and performance of AWS Regions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize engineering projects
  • Develop and maintain monitoring frameworks to ensure high availability and performance of software systems
  • Script operating system tasks and infrastructure as code to automate deployment and management of software systems
Requirements
  • 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering experience
  • 2+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems
  • Experience with Linux/Unix and development/programming/scripting language (Python/Java/Bash/Perl)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills across languages
  • Experience operating 24x7 high-availability, distributed software applications and performance tuning software applications and optimizing fleet utilization
