We are seeking an Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As an E3 engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and analyzing complex electronic products for space systems. You will work across diverse engineering disciplines to deliver valued oversight across all phases of a program from origin to orbit.
Responsibilities- Write, interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down E3 requirements to all design levels.
- Present at design reviews to internal and external customers regarding E3 issues.
- Write E3 design guidelines, develop models, and perform analyses on components, subsystems, and systems using EMI principles.
- Design ground systems, chassis, and harness shielding, EMI filters, and select and lay out interface circuitry for achieving EMC.
- Prepare and review E3 test procedures, E3 test reports, E3 technical analyses, E3 control plans, and participate in cross-discipline design reviews for EMC.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464, NASA-GEVS 7000, and other E3 space requirement standards.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully allocate, tailor, and flow down system-level E3 requirements into lower-level requirements.
- E3 design and analysis experience.
- Working knowledge of lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, generators, amplifiers, and measurement antennas.
- Must have U.S. citizenship with current or active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility at time of application.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, or analog circuitry.
- Experience with defense and aerospace industry practices and programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, Risk assessments for E3 compliance.
- Design experience with EMI filters, circuit layout, and analysis for E3, shielding, lightning protection, cable, and harnessing design.
- Working knowledge and experience in modeling and simulation of E3 using commercially available software.
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $107,300 - $160,900 and a discretionary bonus. We also provide a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
