About the Role

HOK is a leading design firm that is dedicated to improving people's lives and serving our clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Design Visualization Specialist to join our Sport + Recreation + Entertainment team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality visual materials through physical and computer modeling to represent Sports + Recreation + Entertainment projects and their design intent.
  • Work closely with Project Designers to understand project requirements and provide visualization or animation solutions for client presentations.
  • Utilize BIM modeling, infrastructure modeling, and digital prototyping processes for informed decision-making.
  • Interact with Project Designers throughout development to receive input and constructive criticism.
  • Manifest visual representations such as still images, animations, virtual tours, and interactive images.
  • Develop a standard style for both photorealistic and stylized imagery for implementation on all projects.
  • Translate design/schematic drawing sets and CAD-based construction documents into 3D models.
  • Translate computer models into physical models by preparing data for architectural model shop equipment.
  • Maintain current knowledge of multi-media and architectural software applications, prototyping, materials, manufacturing techniques, and incorporate this knowledge into project work.
  • Archive projects in a systematic and accessible manner.
  • Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
  • Foster a culture of external and internal client service.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Advanced skills in 3D modeling software such as Revit, Sketchup, Lumion, Enscape, TwinMotion, and Rhino required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in Affinity software suite preferred.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, graphics, industrial design, or equivalent.
  • 4 years' experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required.
  • 3 years' experience with 3D modeling, digital rendering, visualization, and simulation in the design and/or construction environment.
  • LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.
