Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analyses of train accidents and personal injuries to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for prevention.
  • Support the development and implementation of operating practices standards that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address safety and operational risks.
  • Develop and maintain operating rules and practices, including communicating revisions to stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on railway operations and safety matters.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as transportation, safety, or a related discipline.
  • Current certification in railway operations and safety, such as CFR 240.
  • Desirable: DSLE designation and/or experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in railway operations, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Locomotive Event Recorder software.
