Position Overview

The Technical College System of Georgia is in search of a Revenue Accounting Specialist. This role involves executing a variety of paraprofessional accounting tasks to support financial accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine a diverse array of source documents, including invoices, receipts, and cash register reports for precision and completeness;
  • Assign standard pre-established accounting codes and other identifying details;
  • Input routine financial transactions into accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and reconciling records;
  • Organize and maintain physical files of departmental documentation;
  • Manage and document cash, check, and credit card transactions; assist with cash register operations as necessary;
  • Establish and maintain third-party contracts and scholarships within the student accounts receivable system;
  • Process electronic billing and payment systems with third-party vendors;
  • Participate in training sessions and implement procedures as instructed;
  • Record payment data into student accounts;
  • Provide assistance and information to callers and visitors;
  • Perform basic clerical duties as needed;
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and
  • One (1) year of experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting.

Proficiency in software applications such as Peoplesoft Financials, BANNER Student Database, Nebraska Bookstore System, and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience within the Technical College System of Georgia is also preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Work is generally conducted in an office setting, involving periods of sitting, standing, and walking. The role may require bending, lifting, and carrying lightweight items up to 25 pounds. Clear verbal communication is essential, and full hand and finger motion is necessary for data entry tasks.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and a flexible benefits package.
