We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Specialist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As an Environmental Services Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect assigned areas, including surgical, procedural, and specialized areas such as Sterile Processing.
- Operate light power equipment and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies in bathrooms and storage areas.
- Transport waste to central waste depository and package biohazardous and biochemical waste to OSHA and DOT standards.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous environmental services or custodial experience is required.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50-75 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
As an Environmental Services Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent exposure to biohazardous waste, chemicals, and other environmental hazards. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators, and follow strict safety protocols to minimize exposure.
