Key Responsibilities:

Exemplifies the organization's mission and core values, consistently conducting oneself in alignment with these principles. Adheres to all regulations and laws related to patient health, safety, and medical confidentiality. Participates in patient evaluations by gathering both subjective and objective information. Collaborates with registered nurses to execute the patient care plan. Engages with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and implement care effectively. Oversees and assesses care provided by non-licensed personnel. Records nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations of patient responses. Recognizes potential emergency situations and initiates appropriate actions. Supplies educational materials to patients and families under the guidance of the registered nurse. Contributes to the development and adjustment of care plans based on patient feedback. Ensures a safe environment by following hospital protocols regarding isolation, restraint use, fall prevention, blood transfusions, and safe medication practices. Attends mandatory skills validation sessions, staff meetings, and continuing education as required by departmental standards. Assists in orienting new staff members. Complies with all applicable state, federal, and local laws and standards regarding ethical and legal compliance. Performs additional related duties as necessary based on workload or staffing changes.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.

Licensure: Current Indiana LPN License.

Experience: No prior experience required.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge and skills necessary to follow a patient care plan appropriate to the patient's age. BLS certification required upon hire or must be obtained within 60 days.

Work hours, starting times, or days may vary based on departmental and organizational needs.
