Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance and repair of the school division's kitchen equipment and facilities. This includes performing advanced general maintenance, construction, and renovation projects as directed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in various types of food service equipment and refrigeration systems.
  • Installing new food service equipment and refrigeration equipment and systems when required.
  • Relocating and expanding existing food service equipment and refrigeration systems as needed.
  • Repairing, replacing, and/or calibrating controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
  • Fabricating, assembling, and installing electrical wiring, controls, and piping according to specifications and code.

The ideal candidate will have seven years of experience working in a trade (HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing) as a maintenance technician, preferably within a public school system or educational setting.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all food service equipment and refrigeration equipment.
  • Performing all scheduled preventive maintenance and cleaning on all food service and refrigeration equipment as needed.
  • Being on call 24 hours, 7 days a week for emergency situations, including weather and other building emergencies.
