As a School Nurse PD at Lifespan Corporation, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to students in an alternative school setting. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with administration, colleagues, parents, and students in high-stress situations.

Job Description

Reporting to the Medical Director and site Clinical Director, the successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to provide quality care services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing Individual Care Plans and Emergency Care Plans for students with specific health needs.
  • Maintaining confidential cumulative and current health records for each student.
  • Participating in admission of students by facilitating medical paperwork, such as medication forms and annual medication forms.
  • Collaborating with school staff regarding school home and community health issues affecting students and school personnel.
  • Providing health coaching for non-acute health problems of students as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in nursing practice, preferably within a school setting or working with children and adolescents. A positive non-judgmental attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of psychiatric behavioral and developmental conditions are essential for success in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in RI.
  • Experience working with students with various emotional and behavioral disorders, including autism spectrum disorders.
  • Basic computer skills.
Benefits

Lifespan Corporation offers competitive pay rates commensurate with experience. The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on location and industry standards.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of students. A strong background and experience working with students with various emotional and behavioral disorders are desired.
