As a Leave Replacement Speech Therapist with Hackensack Public Schools, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive services to students with speech and/or language disorders. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing screening procedures to identify students in need of corrective speech, language, and/or hearing instruction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Diagnostic Evaluations: Observe students, conference with instructional staff, and implement various assessment techniques to make diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop Intervention Strategies: Participate in team conferences and communications with parents/guardians and students, and recommend intervention strategies for the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Monitor IEP Implementation: Monitor the implementation of IEPs and participate in the annual review process.
- Collaborate with Community Resources: Assist with referrals of students to agencies and resources in the community when appropriate.
- Evaluate Student Progress: Provide regular evaluation of students receiving speech, language, and hearing specialized instruction to determine the effectiveness of services.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Complete all records and reports in a timely manner, as required by law and regulation or requested by the Principal, Supervisor of the Child Study Team, or the Director of Special Services.
