Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive services for students with speech and/or language disorders, following New Jersey Administrative Code 6A:14 et seq. Develop and implement screening procedures to identify students who are in need of corrective speech, language, and/or hearing instruction; Observe students, conference with instructional staff, and implement various assessment techniques to make diagnostic evaluations; Participate in team conferences and communications with parents/guardians and students, and recommend intervention strategies for the Individual Education Plan (IEP); Monitor the implementation of IEPs and participate in the annual review process; Assist with referrals of students to agencies and resources in the community when appropriate; Provide regular evaluation of students receiving speech, language, and hearing specialized instruction to determine the effectiveness of services; Complete all records and reports in a timely manner, as required by law and regulation or requested by the Principal, Supervisor of the Child Study Team, or the Director of Special Services.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language disorders
Provide speech and language therapy services to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and community-based settings
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students with speech and language disorders
Assess and evaluate students' communication skills and develop strategies to improve their communication abilities
Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for students with speech and language disorders
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and communicate with parents and other professionals as needed

Qualifications:
Master's Degree
New Jersey State Speech Language Specialist Certification
