Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of personal emergency response systems and related technology is beneficial.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Work Environment

The position primarily entails fieldwork, involving visits to clients' residences, which may encompass a range of settings, including trailers, apartments, and houses. It is essential to note that some of these residences may be in significant disrepair or unclean. In cases where the condition of a client's home necessitates it, the company will provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees.

A considerable portion of your workday will be spent in a vehicle as you travel to your scheduled appointments. Please be prepared for this aspect of the role.

When you are in the office, it's essential to anticipate a noise level that typically falls within the mild to moderate range.

Physical Demands

The role of a Medical Alert System Specialist can be physically demanding, particularly due to the extensive time spent in vehicles. Below are some of the physical demands associated with this position:

  • Driving: A significant portion of the job involves driving to clients' homes, which can be physically demanding due to long periods of sitting and concentrating on the road.
  • Lifting and Carrying: PERS installers may need to transport equipment and tools to and from their vehicle to the client's residence, which can involve lifting and carrying items up to 20lbs.
  • Bending and Kneeling: During installations, installers may need to bend, kneel, or crouch to access wiring, install sensors, or make adjustments.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Installing and configuring PERS components often requires precise hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Weather Conditions: Depending on the location and climate, PERS installers may need to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow.
