Position Overview

PeaceHealth is currently looking for a Culinary Service Associate for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable role. The compensation for this position is $24.93 per hour. The starting salary is influenced by various factors, including education, training, work experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Job Responsibilities

This role involves a range of duties related to the preparation, serving, cleaning, and delivery of food items in support of hospital food and catering services, adhering to HACCP guidelines for safe food handling.

Key Duties
  • Prepare, mix, assemble, portion, serve, and store food in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment, wash pots, and carry out extensive cleaning tasks while following safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Transport equipment, food, supplies, and waste as instructed.
  • May serve as a cashier in the cafeteria, managing the cash register.
  • Adhere to guidelines for the setup and cleanup of assigned stations.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in retail food service.
Credentials
  • Required: Food Handlers Card - Washington.
Skills
  • Strong customer service abilities (Required).
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices (Required).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members (Required).
  • Effective communication skills to perform job functions safely and efficiently (Required).
Working Conditions

Lifting Requirements
  • Culinary Staff: Frequent movement around the area. Lifting: Regularly up to 22 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and grasping. Occasional squatting and kneeling.
  • Dietary Aide: Sedentary work, lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally.
  • Food Service Assistant: Regular movement around the area. Lifting: Frequently up to 12 lbs, occasionally up to 44 lbs.
  • Stores Coordinator Assistant: Continuous movement, lifting frequently up to 50 lbs.
Environmental Conditions
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
  • Exposure to heated surfaces (e.g., ovens).
  • Working in proximity to water/liquids.
Mental/Visual Requirements
  • Vision and hearing must be within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
