Quality Assurance Technician Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

Production Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of production areas to verify adherence to quality protocols.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all products to ensure traceability.
  • Initiate quality holds as necessary to manage product integrity.
  • Document and oversee production paperwork related to quality assurance and safety standards.
  • Perform cleanliness assessments on production lines.
  • Execute tests to confirm compliance with product specifications.
  • Calibrate quality control instruments utilized in production processes.
  • Implement corrective actions for non-conforming products and manage their appropriate handling.
  • Support ongoing improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Provide consistent quality guidance to production staff.
  • Engage in special projects and additional assigned tasks.

Laboratory Responsibilities

  • Evaluate finished products and raw materials in accordance with the control plan.
  • Input and analyze results in the database to track trends.
  • Conduct necessary environmental assessments.
  • Review equipment, materials, and procedures to ensure compliance with laboratory excellence standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment on a daily basis.
  • Oversee documentation for the Supplier Complaint program.
  • Manage documentation for incoming ingredients and materials.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within Food Processing, Packaging, or Quality Assurance/Laboratory settings.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety regulations.
  • Capability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic proficiency in email, Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, and Sample Management software.
  • Ability to identify product quality concerns and effectively communicate deviations.
  • Expertise in process auditing and inspection techniques.
