Certified Prosthetist Orthotist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our team at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic patient care, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of your license, certification, or registration.
- Assess patients with impairment of human movement or musculoskeletal abnormalities to determine a functional intervention.
- Produce Orthotic/Prosthetic devices as prescribed by the referring physician.
- Formulate a treatment plan with other healthcare providers based on a comprehensive assessment.
- Implement the orthotic and/or prosthetic treatment plan and oversee certified assistants.
- Utilize a follow-up treatment plan to ensure successful orthotic and prosthetic outcomes.
- Comply with practice management plans to develop and document policies and procedures to ensure patient protection.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in orthotics and prosthetics from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program.
- Certification by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (CPO) or Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC).
- Physical requirements include remaining in a stationary position, traversing or moving around the work location, using a keyboard, operating department-specific equipment, ascending/descending equipment or ladder, positioning self to accomplish the essential functions of the role, receiving and communicating information and ideas for understanding, transporting, positioning, and/or exerting force.
