Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Genomics Specialist with a focus on Transcriptomics to support our initiatives. This is a full-time role that requires on-site presence.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Design, develop, and enhance computational biology and bioinformatics algorithms to analyze and visualize scientific data.

2. Collaborate with physicians and scientists, contributing to publications and research efforts.

3. Gather and document requirements from stakeholders, identifying existing tools or developing new algorithms for analysis.

4. Provide on-site support and troubleshooting for researchers utilizing computational biology software.

5. Create and deliver training materials to promote the effective use of computational biology techniques among researchers.

6. Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools in computational biology.

7. Collaborate with software developers to integrate genomic software solutions within enterprise systems.


Qualifications:


1. Graduate degree with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.

2. Strong understanding of genomics and molecular biology, including technologies like qPCR and next-generation sequencing.

3. Proven experience in analyzing large-scale transcriptomics data (e.g., RNA-seq, scRNA-seq) and familiarity with open-source software (e.g., Cellranger, Seurat, Scanpy).

4. Proficient in UNIX/Linux environments and scripting languages (e.g., shell, Perl, Python).

5. Experience with high-performance computing environments and statistical analysis using R or Python.

6. Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to non-specialists.

7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:


1. Ph.D. or equivalent experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related fields.

2. Familiarity with genome assembly tools and pipeline construction.

3. Experience with genomic-scale data management and analysis.
