  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to school health services.
  • Initiate program changes as needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality health services to students and staff.
  • Manage program allotment efficiently to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Prepare health reports for supervisors, the board of education, and the health department.
  • Collaborate with other child-support agencies to design and provide a school health program that meets the needs of students and staff.
  • Negotiate professional and medical services essential to the school health program.
  • Provide first aid care and medically prescribed services to students and staff.
  • Maintain the security of school health supplies and equipment.
  • Serve as a resource person on health issues for students, staff, and parents.
  • Provide staff development on health-related topics for school staff and volunteers.
  • Screen and conduct health appraisals for students and staff.
  • Provide follow-up evaluations on students as required.
  • Recommend corrective action where problems are identified.
  • Conduct home visits when appropriate to support students and families.
  • Correspond with parents on health needs of children.
  • Record immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
