Job Overview

The Sales Development Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team by streamlining the collection, evaluation, preparation, and necessary documentation to facilitate client deliverables within a specified timeframe. This position involves communication with sales personnel, internal staff, and clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and acquiring additional documentation essential for the sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of bids, including support with pricing strategies, discounting, partnership agreements, and gathering supplementary materials in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Support the creation of client proposals utilizing the CORE system.
  • Manage loose package proposals and ongoing business activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers to resolve technical inquiries, confirm discounts, verify lead times, identify potential additional charges, and estimate freight costs when applicable.
  • Work to secure special pricing from manufacturers, including final documentation to substantiate any discounts beyond standard offerings.
  • Assist in coordinating samples, demonstrations, and presentations as required for clients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of experience in sales support, ideally within the interior design, construction, or furniture sectors, focusing on customer service, solution development, and opportunity coordination, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the responsibilities of this role, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers for handling or feeling, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a general office setting. The work is primarily sedentary but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature, and no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise or dust. Standard office equipment is available for use.
