About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor - Conversion to join our team at Celgard Concord. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading a team of manufacturing technicians and overseeing the operational aspects of the conversion process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all operational aspects of the conversion process, including planning, organizing, and supervising manpower, equipment, and other resources.
  • Lead behavior-based safety initiatives and ensure that technicians plan safety into their daily routines and follow safe work practices.
  • Assist in hiring new team members and oversee the on-boarding and on-the-job training for new and/or transferred employees.
  • Assure the most effective operation of the production process, utilizing key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, and machine downtime.
  • Manage employee performance and development, providing leadership in identifying problems, troubleshooting, and solving issues affecting yield and equipment utilization.
  • Maintain and analyze shift measures, conduct shift reporting, audit ERP for accuracy and variance, and conduct weekly and monthly variance investigations.
  • Assure consistent, equitable working relationships with all team members.
  • Learn and utilize company systems, facilitate continuous improvement, participate in and lead meetings, and develop management and technical skills to enhance plant performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, with supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience leading in a team-centered environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong math skills and a solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to learn and use problem-solving and decision-making tools.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build effective workplace relationships, provide effective feedback, motivate employees, and support employee development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply safety principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour day shift, 2-2-3 schedule.
Working Environment

This position is in a manufacturing plant setting that requires working in a production environment. The majority of the time will be spent in a climate-controlled clean room environment. Standing and walking continuously during the entire shift, 10-12 hours at a time, is required. Ability to climb stairs and steps in the work area is also necessary.
