SUMMARY
The Director of Facility Services is accountable for the effective coordination of maintenance, custodial operations, grounds management, construction services, mail distribution, centralized shipping and receiving, and fleet oversight.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Supervise maintenance, custodial, and grounds management teams across all college locations.
  • Manage mail services, centralized shipping & receiving, and fleet operations.
  • Lead project management initiatives for capital improvement projects across the college.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of all building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC; oversee the building control systems managed by facilities.
  • Support event planning and scheduling by providing setup and custodial services.
  • Administer the college's energy management initiatives.
  • Oversee annual maintenance contracts for various services.
  • Manage the work order system for Facility Services.
  • Oversee the departmental budget, ensuring timely responses to needs while adhering to budgetary constraints and purchasing policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of facilities management, building systems, and capital improvement processes.
  • Proven expertise in construction and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy, self-motivated individual who collaborates effectively with team members to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships and establish credibility with all organizational levels. Commitment to working with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Detail-oriented approach.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and best practices in Facility Services and equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials and containment protocols.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and energy management practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Seven to Ten years of experience in facility management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree.

WORK SCHEDULE
Facilities staff typically work Monday through Friday 6:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. The Director can adjust their work schedule to meet the needs of the college and facilities staff with supervisor approval. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends may be required.
