LSSI is seeking a full-time Counselor for Adoption Support and Preservation to work Monday through Friday, with some evening hours. Under the guidance of a licensed clinician, this role encompasses a comprehensive range of therapeutic services tailored for adopted children and their adoptive parents, aligning with the integrated assessment, permanency plan, and the identified therapeutic needs of the family. Services will be delivered in accordance with state mandates, COA standards, and LSSI policies.

Essential Functions:
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' therapeutic needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring engagement with children, families, and Child Welfare Services staff. This process must consider the reasons for the family's involvement in the child welfare system, as well as past and current safety and risk factors.
- Deliver direct counseling and therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups as indicated by the assessment and treatment plan, with service delivery locations based on client needs.
- Accurately complete and submit all required reports, documentation, and billing in a timely manner, including progress reports as mandated by applicable policies.
- Engage in the supervisory process for guidance and support in decision-making, assessment, treatment planning, and intervention, providing DSM 5/ICD-10 diagnoses for assigned clients.
Position Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program, or a Master's degree in a related field with three years of subsequent therapeutic experience.
- Possession of LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or a commitment to work towards licensure under a licensed supervisor.
- Familiarity with DSM 5/ICD-10 and their applications under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
- Strong communication, organizational, presentation, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A valid Illinois driver's license, proof of automobile liability insurance, and access to transportation for client visits and meetings.
