Job Title: Outpatient Accounts Manager

At Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Outpatient Accounts Manager to join our Patient Financial Services team.

Job Summary:

The Outpatient Accounts Manager will be responsible for directing the Outpatient Accounts staff and Reimbursement Services, performing duties personally or through subordinates. This role requires a strong leader who can supervise, train, and evaluate staff performance, while also ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing and reimbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train Outpatient Supervisors and staff to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry billing issues.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce billing and reimbursement policies and procedures.
  • Ensure practice-wide communication and training on medical coding, billing, and reimbursement best practices.
  • Analyze and report Accounts Receivable data to identify trends and offer solutions.
  • Monitor third-party reimbursement compliance and research variances.
  • Maintain internal controls over Accounts Receivable and ensure confidentiality of patient accounts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare financial management, with a strong background in medical coding and billing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records systems, particularly Epic.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage competing demands, and work effectively as part of a management team.
