Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team at Johnson Thermal Systems. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for managing the workers' compensation claims process and developing, implementing, and evaluating safety policies and programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the workers' compensation claims process, including initial entering of claims and processing documents related to incidents and claims.
  • Collaborate with safety managers and JTS management staff to develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Drive continuous safety improvement through best management practices using leading and trailing indicators.
  • Facilitate the workers' compensation claims process, including coordinating with insurance representatives on safety progress and insurance rating.
  • Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections, and conduct weekly walk-arounds and observations to maintain an effective safety culture.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, safety and health, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties.
  • 3 years' experience as a safety professional preferred.
  • Experience with disciplines, approaches, and methodologies associated with industrial safety regulations, programs, and procedures.
  • Experience with handling worker's comp claims.
  • Effective adult training methods and practical approaches and methodologies required to educate experienced and new workers on routine or complex and/or emerging occupational health and safety issues.
