Position Overview
Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Underwriter specializing in Custom Property to join our Seneca team. This role will primarily focus on underwriting and marketing our products across the Midwest region, particularly for E&S Property risks. This position allows for a hybrid work model, with a combination of in-office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage new and renewal accounts with annual premiums ranging from $10,000 to $250,000.
- Collaborate with wholesale brokers on the production, underwriting, pricing, and servicing of accounts within the designated territory.
- Contribute to the development of annual business strategies and assess performance metrics for assigned producers.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitive strategies, and product distribution systems.
- Evaluate risk models to identify any changes in risk exposure.
- Analyze profit, volume, and service outcomes for assigned producers.
- Support the training of underwriters, trainees, and support staff in the technical aspects of underwriting.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of underwriting experience with a strong focus on property lines.
- Experience in industries such as residential and habitational real estate, manufacturing, and hospitality.
- Established relationships with wholesale brokers.
- Exceptional technical and marketing abilities.
- Understanding of the market and regulatory landscape.
- Strong communication, negotiation, customer service, and organizational skills.
- A college degree or equivalent is preferred; designations such as ARM, CPCU, or MBA are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including risk control protocols.
