Position Overview

This role is based in a collaborative environment focused on enhancing the Defense Health Agency (DHA) BUILDER Sustainment Management Systems (SMS) program. The primary responsibility is to generate comprehensive reports detailing the condition of electrical systems within healthcare facilities, aiding in the strategic planning and funding allocation for maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of electrical systems in buildings.
  • Utilize existing data to create informative reports that assist in understanding current conditions.
  • Draft extensive scopes of work for the replacement of outdated equipment.
  • Design projects aimed at the rehabilitation of facilities, with varying sizes and complexities.

Core Duties:

  • Leverage expertise in electrical systems to propose projects for facility repairs and upgrades.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians in the field.
  • Compile Recapitalization Reports for substantial medical facilities.
  • Ensure precise data collection reflecting observed conditions in the field.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Lead Engineering and Program Managers to fulfill contractual obligations and manage project timelines effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Achieve expertise in the BUILDER platform.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel may be necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience with building systems is preferred.
  • Experience in infrastructure and facility assessments for various governmental entities is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with low and medium-voltage distribution systems and the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) is essential.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Clearance is required.
  • Experience in medical facility environments is a plus.
  • Background in construction or facilities management is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed reports with engineering recommendations is preferred.
  • Experience with BUILDER SMS or similar software platforms is beneficial.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to produce detailed technical reports and presentations.

Work Environment: The work setting may vary, including local office and site visits to medical facilities. Employees may be required to travel within and outside the continental United States.
