Job Summary

Eisenhower Imaging Center LLC is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to diagnostic imaging, including Nuclear Medicine, PET, and SPECT/CT examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and introduce yourself to patients prior to exams.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT examinations following established protocols.
  • Operate and maintain all Nuclear Medicine equipment, including PET/CT, E-Cam, Thyroid Probe, and BioDose.
  • Evaluate and maintain a quality control program in conjunction with the Radiation Physicist.
  • Follow guidelines for procurement and preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, including dose calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage, and safe handling.
  • Establish and maintain venous access routes.
  • Recognize pathology and take responsibility for performing additional images for study enhancement.
  • Verify physician orders and obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns.
  • Manage biohazard, chemical, and radioactive waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Perform radioactive contamination monitoring and decontamination procedures as needed.
  • Distribute and maintain film badges and instruct personnel on radiation safety.
  • Maintain constant communication with patients throughout the study.
  • Maintain all clinical equipment, including daily QC, and troubleshoot NM and PET/CT equipment as needed.
  • Notify service personnel as needed and maintain service logs.
  • Respond to IV Contrast injections and take appropriate action.
  • Verify that appropriate clinical information is included with scan interpretation.
  • Verify contrast is properly loaded into the injector prior to injection.
  • Operate the PACS system and printers.
  • Coordinate patient exams and medical necessity with Guest Scheduling Representatives.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and utilize lead shielding as required.
  • Consult with Radiologists on acute positive findings and communicate exam results with referring physicians as requested.
  • Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Responsible for accurate coding and completion of all ordered procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Completion of a Radiologic Technologist Program and/or Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification.
  • CPR certification.
