Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist with Healthcare Staffing Plus, you will play a critical role in capturing high-quality diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues using computerized tomography equipment. Your expertise will be essential in positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies, performing regular warm-up sequences to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes, and sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

Appropriately position patients to scan specific areas of their bodies
Perform regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes
Sterilize radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients
Correctly interpret doctors' written scanning instructions
Administer radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues
Evaluate CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality
Explain scanning procedures to patients and provide reassurance and support as required

Requirements

BLS and ACLS certification
National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification
Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) certification
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Ability to stand for extended periods
Strong technical skills
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care
Minimum of two years of current Computed Tomography Technologist experience
Graduate from a fully accredited CT Tech/Radiology Tech program
Active unencumbered Computed Tomography Technologist state license
One year of Epic experience
COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster

Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills
Participates in relevant continuing education programs
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise

A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
